What We Haven’t Told You About Washington
David’s cousin, Josh, surprised him with an interview at Bungie. You video game nerds know what I’m talking about, but for the rest of you that is a video game design studio. David was a ball of nerves and lamented that he didn’t know anything in the interview and that he winged all his answers. The thing about my husband is he’s brilliant and when he wings it, he crushes it. He was quickly asked back for a second interview (even though they told him not to expect anything for at least a week) and then given an informal offer (even though they told him this could take time) and was officially offered as much as he’s making here (even though he was told to expect much less). The three guys who interviewed him said he would be a great addition to the team. They were all impressed with his interviews. I’m so proud of him I could burst. And he’s pretty excited (and incredibly nervous). This is when I knew the phone call was better than we ever hoped:
We were sitting in the Houston airport for a three hour lay-over when he got the call. He accepted the offer today and was given a start date of April 22. That’s five weeks. Five weeks to move across the country.
April has a lot of big events for us (a Frightened Rabbit concert, meeting Maddie, David’s birthday, a cross-country road trip, a new apartment [the smallest one yet], and two new jobs). We can’t wait to share this exciting adventure with you.
